Event Information

Fish remains are routinely encountered during archaeological excavations. In this presentation, the scientific methods used to analyse fish remains will be explored, including recent advances in archaeological science such as stable carbon and nitrogen isotope analysis. Case studies of the analyses of fish remains will be used to explore the transition from fishing, hunting and gathering to settled agriculture in northern central Europe.
